Let me introduce to you the amazing Lily who still smiles, works hard and only wants to serve the people of Lahaina.
Lily Nguyen, the owner of the Noodle Bar Lahaina lost her restaurant (https://noodlebarlahaina.com) , along with her home, 2 cars, her Lahaina Nail & Spa business and all of her possessions that were completely destroyed. Lily and her 21-year-old daughter escaped the fire by jumping into the ocean. Even though Lily was injured, they both survived and were rescued after 6 hours.
Shortly after the fire, Lily and her family received temporary housing, she decided she/they would prepare hot, healthy food and drink to serve the displaced residents of Lahaina. Right after the fire, Lily began preparing food for the first responders, which included the local Police Department, local Fire Department(s), all the resort employees and all the displaced residents.
Currently, Lily is preparing food for people that come to the Napili Park distribution hub. She is approved by the health department and is well-known in the community. Lily and her help cook practically all night preparing for the next day. They arrive at a park at 5AM to start cooking and delivering the meals. She never turns anyone away. No monetary tips or donations are accepted by her. She refuses to accept money from anyone. Lily purchases all the supplies and ingredients needed to feed the community and occasionally has traveled to Honolulu to order needed supplies and has the pallets shipped to Maui. And all of this from Lily’s heart, and her very own pocketbook.
This GOFUND Me funds will be used for some way of feeding more of the community. Possibly a new location or a food truck where she can cook for the community and eventually get back on her feet and start rebuilding her own life.
